After the world war was lost, the weimar republic was created in an attempt to create the perfect democratic country. The weimar culture flourished during this time in regards to arts and science. Theatre in this time was also something that became bigger, producers such as Brecht and Weill, would try to add in propaganda to get the audience more involved and outspoken. This avant grade theatre was the most advanced in Europe at the time.
Cinema to begin with at the weimar berlin period just meant silent movies. However as things got more advance a film that was made in English and German was called The blue angel 1930 by Josef Von Sternberg, the plot is where a professor falls in love with a cabaret dancer and then his decent into madness. It was considered to be the first major German sound film.
